It all started in the late 90s with a cigarette, where Henry Michaelsen and Henrik "Gugge" Garnov met in front of the studios at Nordisk Film. They are both fascinated by the ability of sound to strengthen and create experiences – and not least stories.
Soon they collide again... and again... and again on footage and during post productions on a lot of different films and projects. A friendship arises even though the both two have a lot of iron in the fire.
In 2008, the Henry company GiLyd and begins building and constructing premises and studies in Skofabrikken in the South Harbour in Copenhagen, where the sound is central and nerd stuff. During filming and post production to the movie all for one is time ripe for that GiLyd says welcome to Gugge in 2012.
Today, GiLyd is a company that delivers total solutions for high-quality sound and a great price. It is a sparring and vidensfællesskab which strengthens networks and transmits experience to trainees, which starts in a 3-year process at GiLyd.
